This ring collection is based on the traditional Georgian and Victorian jewellery style of acrostic jewellery. The first letter of each letter of the word you’re spelling out correlates to a gemstone beginning in the same letter.
A popular one was Adore- Amethyst, Diamond, Opal, Ruby and Emerald. They’re the perfect way to create a bespoke ring to you. Complete with a loved ones name or word special to you.
The History
Originating from the Georgian and Victorian periods, this jewellery style became very popular as they loved things with secret messages or symbols. These were the perfect way to show someone what they meant to them. Most commonly the words used were- Adore, Dearest, Love, Regard or Darling. These words are a great choice as they include some of the most popular gemstones like diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds.
I love this style and think it is such a beautiful way to utilise gemstones. I want to make this even more personal and offer any word that anyone would like. This doesn’t come without it’s difficulties, not all letters of the alphabet have a gemstone to correlate to. However, I just like to see this as something to work with rather than an obstacle.
